Senior R&D manager

Your Contribution

As the Senior R&D Manager, you will be responsible for leading R&D initiatives, overseeing a team of engineers, and ensuring that projects align with the company’s strategic goals. The role involves managing the development of new products, enhancing existing ones, and fostering a culture of innovation.

• Lead and manage the R&D team and its personnel, achieving project goals.
• Oversee all R&D projects from concept to launch, setting timelines and ensuring they are adhered to.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product success.
• Provide technical expertise and technical issue solving to the respective teams whenever necessary.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and MAHLE product development procedures.
• Monitor and report on project progress and performance, risks, and recommendations to senior management. 
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement of product cost.
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and careers.
• Conduct market research to identify customer needs and preferences.
• Implement best practices in project management and product development.
• Drive the adoption of new tools and technologies to improve efficiency.
• Support the commercialization of new products and technologies.
• Stay updated on automotive thermal technology trends and advancements.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• 10 years or more of experience in development of complex air conditioning and powertrain cooling products for passenger and commercial vehicles, esp. in NEV application preferred.
• Familiar with the development process and standards related to automotive industry components
• Proven experience in a relevant role, with a strong background in leading R&D projects, managing cross-functional teams, and driving innovation to support the company’s strategic goals.
• Strong capabilities in coaching & management
• Structured and autonomous working style
• Good communication and team driven skills
• Fluent English language skills
