Head of Global Lead Buying Freight and Logistic Services

Your Contribution

• Define and implement the global purchasing strategy for Freight & Logistics Services, including transportation and 3PL warehousing, across all MAHLE Business Units.
• Lead global and regional Lead Buyers and oversee the international supplier portfolio for the material group.
• Drive global negotiations with top suppliers, ensuring savings, cost avoidance, and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Identify and leverage cross‑BU synergies, bundling opportunities, and market potentials to optimize logistics spend.
• Review major sourcing decisions, define supplier panels, and ensure establishment and compliance of global master contracts.
• Collaborate closely with BU, plant, and central logistics functions, ensuring alignment on requirements, escalations, and strategic priorities.
• Develop global standards for purchasing processes, tools, and KPI/reporting structures, including Freight Controlling.
• Lead global purchasing projects and report performance, spend results, and strategic initiatives to BU Management and MAHLE Headquarters.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Completed Master of Business Administration degree
• 8+ years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain roles in an international and multicultural environment.
• Strong logistics expertise, including deep knowledge of land and sea freight transportation services, logistics market dynamics, cost calculation methods, and planning processes.
• Very strong negotiation skills, with proven experience in leading complex, global negotiations with top-tier suppliers.
• Demonstrated experience working with executive‑level stakeholders and preparing strategic presentations and recommendations.
• Proven ability to lead international teams and manage global projects in a complex matrix organization.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and focus on delivering results.
