Direct responsibility over the integration, coordination and supervision of functions performed by a group of employees within the XEDEL functional sub-area, directly reporting to the Head of Electronic Hardware Department.

Lead a team of PCB engineers, PCB simulation engineers and technical office.

Responsibility of the team management, process compliance, maturity, efficiency, deliverables to projects and budget compliance.

 

  • Manage/coordinate the tasks of the Layout Team: between around 6 to 15 engineers.
    • Onboarding of new Engineers.
    • Define and plan the tasks, and allocate the resources to the projects.
    • Identify resources needs and coordinate the hiring process with HR.
    • Manage the training and qualification plan for the PCB team (IPC certifications, other trainings).
  • Leads the following tasks related to the HW layout design activities within the team:
    • Approves the layout design for the team’s designs (leads the layout design reviews).
    • Generation of lessons learned from layout issues on his/her team’s projects. Update of design checklists if applicable.
    • Ensure harmonized processes for layout development in all projects.
      • Define output needed for each sample level release.
      • Coordination with industrialization team for the definition of design process/constraints (Design for Manufacturing).
      • Define the PCB review process and scope for each sample level.
      • Define documentation for supplier and for design justification.
      • Define interfaces with mechanical design group for PCB design and validation.
    • Participate in HW/layout process improvement: modification of process, identification of tools or SW for efficiency improvement.
  • Coordinate the operation of the technical office, processes, templates, best practices.
  • Define and evaluate metrics for the team (KPI).

What skills do you need?  

  • Degree in Physics / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering or similar.
  • English (B2).
  • Spanish (C1).
  • German will be a plus.
  • (Critical) Technical background in electronic design layout (automotive preferred).
  • (Required) Professional certification IPC CID+ (basic required, advanced level valued).
  • (Required) Proficiency in the use of Altium Designer (PCB).
  • (Valued) Experience in mechanical/thermal/EMC simulation for PCBs (Ansys HFSS, SIwave, Icepack, Sherlock,…).
  • (Valued) Knowledge of electronic analysis and simulation tools (SPICE, PSIM, Mathcad, MATLAB).
  • (Valued) Knowledge of standard electronic design analysis and verification (Derating analysis, WCA, Reliability calculation, FMEDA).
  • (Valued) Knowledge of Automotive SPICE processes.
  • (Required) Experience in PCB design for automotive applications.
  • (Required) Strong inter-personal communication skills and conflict resolution.
  • (Valued) Experience in developing and implementing electronics development processes and continuous improvement.
  • (Valued) Experience in customer and stakeholder requirements analysis and negotiation.
  • (Valued) Experience in working in a V model development process (ASPICE).
  • (Valued) Experience with coordinating a HW development team.
  • (Valued) Experience in interacting with clients and negotiation skills.
