Project Quality Engineer
SUMMARY
The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for the overall Quality activities in the PDP process
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Structure all quality related work in regards to cost and timeline.

Coordinate the work packages of Quality and ensure timely decisions in core team and extended team.

Support of Project Manager and involved domains in their exercise of quality related tasks with methods and tools.

Create transparency and ensure proper reporting of quality related issues in Core Team and committees (incl. escalation).

Manage the problem solving process in case of DV/PV failure and any other issue object of escalation
-
Ensure integration of known lessons learned within project (related to product and production concept).

Create failure eradication plan and difference analysis.
-
Create and update quality plan.
-
Ensure adherence to prevailing guidelines (group policies, internal standards, etc.).
-
Ensure application of relevant norms.
-
Ensure adoption of provided QM-methods (e.g. Functional Analysis, FMEA, DOE, PPAP, SPC, 8-D).

Ensure the correct dimensional measurement method
-
Support gap analysis.
-
Perform dimensional analysis and statistical analysis for tooling adjustment loop, PV samples delivery and customer events
-
Provide the Customer Specific requirement, including warranty and re-validation requirement
-
Review the Customer specific requirement with the core team and define if MAHLE can achieve them or needs to request a waive to the customer

Support creation of design verification plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum 5 to 8 years of related experience within the automotive industry focusing on Quality systems.

Ability to apply advanced mathematics as typically taught during a four-year college or university course.

Ability to perform statistical analysis (SPC and MSA)
-
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete or abstract variables in standard and non-standard situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.

Ability to perform a root cause investigation (RCA) and define countermeasures using structure Problem solving Method (8D, FTA, Ishikawa Diagram, 5 why’s, etc)

Excellent problem-solving, mistake-proofing and product reliability analysis skills.
-
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. This includes strong persuasive skills, assertiveness, ability to work under pressure, be analytical, proactive and innovative.

Demonstrated facilitation, and decision making skills.
-
Strong understanding in the implementation and requirements of procedures such as PPAP, PFMEA, PDP, etc.

Excellent working knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, Control Plans, and measurement techniques.
-
Strong leadership skills. Able to lead teams, make key decisions and make clear progress forward on assignments.

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Minitab.
-
Working knowledge of AIAG requirements, TS16949:2010 and ISO 14001 standards applicable to the position.

Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings. (GD&T)
