Product Engineer

SUMMARY

The battery cooling team is responsible for the engineering design, release, and development of e-PTC and E-Heater components for North America including battery cooling plates, chillers, refrigerant modules, electronics cooling and E-Heaters. The team is also expected to work closely with supporting activities such as process engineering, operations, purchasing, program management, and counterparts across the globe.

The primary purpose of this position is to work on acquisition and series development projects involving e-PTC. The engineer will work with the customer in understanding and developing their requirements and harmonizing with MAHLE standards and capabilities to design and develop a suitable product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordination of concept, design, and release of e-PTC components within MAHLE

• BOM management in SAP and coordination of packaging of e-PTC products into customer vehicle environments.

• Define thermal capacities and technical requirements for e-PTC components and harmonize with customer needs

• Oversee product cost sensibility and sensitivity

• Create and execute DVP&R for battery cooling products

• Coordinate efforts with MBoG for e-PTC and E-Heaters

• Liaison between Stuttgart Engineering and local customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Science in Engineering (BSME preferred)

• Minimum of 3 years experience in automotive product development preferred

• Familiarity with heat exchanger manufacturing processes preferred

• Knowledge of thermodynamics
