Product Engineer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and/or lead team from an engineering perspective through effective prioritization, planning and execution of all activities associated with the development, industrialization, and continuous improvement

Development and implementation of cost-effective solutions to technical, performance, quality and durability problems discovered during development of new products

Lead in the efforts to create documents such as test plans, DFMEA and PFMEA team participation with powertrain cooling components and modules

Support and participation at DAM (Design Acceptance meeting) and PAM (Process Acceptance Meeting)

Lead change management activities, Trial Production Run (TPR) and cost analysis

Main point of contact for internal and external customers

Effectively communicate with team members across MAHLE facilities worldwide and with external customers, including the generation and presentation of engineering data and project status to internal and customer management

Support the Team and NAFTA plants for quality topics (e.g. root cause analysis and problem solving)

Lead and coordinate the Validation, support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and quality activities for the Powertrain components from Design completion through Production launch.

Assist the launches of Powertrain Cooling components into the production process in the MAHLE Behr NAFTA plants
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering discipline is required
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in Engineering is required; 5 or more years of experience is desired (automotive industry, development of automotive Heat Exchangers or equivalent preferred)
- Knowledge of Heat Exchanger design and validation or equivalent components is required
- Understanding of thermodynamics theory as it applies to automotive engine cooling applications or other applications
- Demonstrated Product Development and Production Launch experience is required
- Must have strong communication skills and desire of global project coordination is required
- Experience at the MAHLE products and NAFTA plants are preferred
- Domestic and Internation travel is required (10-25%) is required
