Product Development Engineering Intern (Summer 2023)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting Team Lead (TL) on defining and developing timelines for DV & PV Test requirements
- Learn the Mahle internal systems to be capable of ordering parts via the purchasing department
- Coordinate with the TL and other engineers within the Stellantis & Honda the procurement of test parts and the schedule development for the actual testing
- Monitor and report out weekly on the status of tests and condition of parts – identify alternatives together with the team – (lead the tracking of the activities)
- Generate, complete, review and submit test reports with the TL and Manager, support and track the submission to the customer
- Assist in the coordination, delivery and return from prototypes to:
- Suppliers, Test LABs, Mahle locations
- Customer locations (Mule builds, Plants)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited University
- Major: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Class standing: junior/senior preferred
- Skills:
- Preferred with previous exposure/experience to Laboratories (Thermal and Vibration Test equipment
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics (thermal behaviors of plastics and metals)
- Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Willed to work with test equipment in a “hands on” approach up to 50% of time
- Ability to review multiple data files and drawing conclusions from it (test reports generation)
- Prior internship experience is required
