SUMMARY

The MAHLE Troy facilities department is responsible for providing a safe and comfortable work environment.  We must maintain and alter the buildings and grounds to accommodate changing operational requirements. The primary purpose of this position is to provide shipping and receiving of goods, and general facility maintenance for the MAHLE Troy campus. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance of the courtyard. (Organization, cleanup, etc.). Employee will be responsible for assisting engineers in sorting and organization of part dunnage, racks, and other packaging materials.

  • Removing obsolete dunnage / racks.

  • Communicate with engineering groups about obsolete parts.

  • Employee will assist with continuous maintenance (cleanliness and organization) of The Shipping and Receiving Department to maintain a small inventory level.

  • In the Senior Materials Coordinator absence, this employee will handle the daily operations of the Troy location shipping and receiving department.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and other material handling equipment.

  • Assist with receiving and recording of inbound freight in SAP (misc. parts, customer orders, validation test items, warranty, etc.).

  • Assist with shipping of outbound freight (misc. parts, customer orders, validation test items, warranty, etc.).

  • Sort and deliver mail to individual mailboxes throughout the campus.

  • Assist with the MAHLE Troy campus building maintenance, inside and outside.

  • Repairs & maintenance on facility equipment, including but not limited to lighting, wall repair, painting, furniture, and security devices etc.

  • Preventative maintenance on equipment, including roll up doors, courtyard gate, exhaust fans, supplemental air systems, etc.

  • Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency lights and eye wash stations monthly.

  • Office design changes: Assist with the Installation of furniture for employee cubes, offices, and common areas.

  • Direct and coordinate outside contractors as needed.

  • Create purchase requisitions for services and repair parts.

  • Maintain the printers: inventory and ordering replacement toner cartridges, repairs, and contacting our printer service provider when required.

  • Support the Facility Department in all aspects of day-to-day functions and planning.

  • Basic computer skills for Microsoft office.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

  • Entry level experience in shipping and receiving.  Entry level experience in use of basic hand tools for mechanical tasks.

  • Basic computer skills for Microsoft office products.

  • Prior knowledge of shipping regulations and maintenance activities is a plus.
