Raw Material Buyer

     Reporting Lines

• Direct report to Head of Raw Material Purchasing Japan
• Indirect report to Head of Raw Material Purchasing Asia

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Lead Raw Material purchasing activities along with same commodity buyers across Japan and Asia
• Monitor supplier capabilities and market trends of Raw Materials
• Manage and align supplier panel with global lead buyer and Head of Raw Material purchasing Asia and Japan
• Involve in developing and planning of Raw Material purchasing strategies
• Involve in supplier nomination of key projects
• Conduct supplier negotiation to achieve saving target
• Involve in Supply Chain Risk management
• Support new project launch in Asia
• Support escalations from other functions such as Plant, Supplier Quality, Logistics, etc

Education and experience level

• University Bachelor degree or above
• 3+ years in Purchasing/Buyer experience is mandatory
• Professional negotiation and communication skills required
• Deep knowledge of Japanese business culture
• Automotive / manufacturing industry experience is a plus
• International experience and intercultural skills are plus
• SAP skill for material management module is a plus
• Purchasing/Buyer experience in Raw Material is a plus
