Requirements Engineer (mechatronic systems)

As a Requirements Engineer you are responsible for the analysis, documentation, coordination and management of requirements for systems (mainly mechatronic systems) throughout its whole development process. You identify and understand the customer’s project-specific demands and document them in a clear and binding way. By this, you act as the interface between the customer and the internal and external developers.

Your roles&responsibilites:

  • Analysis of customer specifications regarding requirements and standards
  • Creation of system and component specifications based on stakeholder requirements, legal requirements, international/national/company standards and lessons learned
  • Ensure completeness, correctness and consistency of requirements
  • Creation of suppllier requirements
  • Coordination of information exchange with customer and supplier
  • Monitoring and tracking of requirements evaluation progress
  • Approve agreement about requirements acceptance in regard to customer, supplier and internal stakeholders as well as legal requirements and standards
  • Ensure appropriate baselining of requirements
  • Update requirements in accordance to change management process
  • Creation of standard specifications for standard components
  • Support of test planning and review test strategy
  • Support of architectural design 
  • Improvement of requirements management process and tool landscape
  • Support colleagues in requirement management tool usage

Your skills &strenghts:

  • Study of mechatronics, software engineering, electrical engineering, or similar, preferably with master degree but at least bachelor degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements management (e.g. IREB® Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering)
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and ASPICE
  • Knowladge of system architecture of mechatronic components
  • Basic knowledge about: E/E, software development, EMC, CAN, LIN, functional safety (ISO 26262), cyber security (ISO/SAE 21434)
  • Experience in automotive product development according V-Model
  • Detailed knowledge in development of mechatronic products for automotive mass production
  • Desirably RE-tool knowledge (e.g. ReqMan/ PTC Windchill RV&S)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and independently
