Commodity Buyer - Elastomers
Your Contribution
As a Commodity Buyer for Elastomers, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing activities for rubber-based components across our automotive product lines. You’ll work closely with suppliers, engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely supply aligned with business and project needs.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for elastomer components, including RFQs, supplier selection, and contract management.
- Ensure timely availability of components in line with cost targets, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions within defined authorizations.
- Support project teams by coordinating purchasing deliverables, ensuring alignment with development timelines.
- Contribute to global and regional commodity strategies, and drive cost-saving initiatives such as VA/VE activities.
Your Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and commercially-minded professional with a strong understanding of elastomer materials and automotive procurement.
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing, ideally within the automotive sector and elastomer commodities.
- Strong technical understanding of rubber components, manufacturing processes, and supplier markets.
- Proven negotiation and communication skills, with fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
- Proficient in SAP and MS Office; experience with quality tools and standards (e.g. FMEA, GD&T, IATF 16949) desirable.
