Your Contribution

 

 

As Head of Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Europe (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the HSE organization across Europe, ensuring occupational safety, health protection, environmental protection, and sustainable standards at all European locations.

 

 

  • Lead the Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Europe function
  • Define the HSE strategy and HSE roadmap for Europe in alignment with the MAHLE corporate strategy and organizational objectives
  • Drive the development, implementation, and compliance of processes, standards, and systems, including audits of European plants
  • Define and continuously improve processes, procedures, and European HSE standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop measures for risk prevention and mitigation
  • Ensure the achievement of corporate HSE objectives across Europe
  • Ensure certification of all relevant and upcoming standards in line with business requirements, including the tracking of deviations and review of activities performed by external service providers
  • Provide ongoing HSE reporting and monitor regular HSE reviews
  • Develop, implement, and track performance indicators
  • Further develop the sustainability strategy and climate neutrality initiatives, while aligning the organization with future sustainability requirements in close cooperation with MAHLE Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Collaborate with authorities and other external institutions
  • Coordinate communication activities with MAHLE Corporate Communications
  • Prepare reports for committees and employee representative bodies (local works councils, European Works Council, etc.)
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the team

 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

 

 

  • Successfully completed university degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or Business Administration with a technical focus
  • Additional qualifications in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, and Health Protection
  • Strong leadership experience and capabilities, ideally in both national and international environments
  • Extensive professional experience in a comparable leadership role within an international manufacturing company
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire protection, and environmental regulations at both national and international levels
  • Comprehensive expertise in HSE principles, methodologies, and HSE performance management
  • Proven expertise in crisis management and business continuity management
  • Knowledge of advocacy and stakeholder engagement related to HSE topics
  • Experience in change management and the implementation of sustainable training programs
  • Strong ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex issues
  • Ability to think and act across functions and organizational boundaries
  • Excellent conceptual skills with a structured and innovative approach
  • Strong methodological expertise and outstanding communication skills
  • Results-oriented mindset and a confident professional presence
  • Consistent execution and reliability in delivering commitments
  • Strong negotiation skills and organizational capabilities, with expertise in planning, development, and implementation
