Material Expert

Your Contribution

As Material Expert you will be responsible for material development and release in China for metals, more specifically you will:

• Track the forward-looking technologies of new materials and processes for automotive thermal and fluid products, and be responsible for the application research and define Material Roadmap Metals in China to support MAHLE’s strategic goals
• Establish a metal material database, collect and organize performance data, application cases, and other information related to materials, providing reference for material selection and product simulation
• Collaborate with the product development team to evaluate material performance and selection, ensuring product reliability and cost-effectiveness 
• Responsible for analyzing and resolving material related issues during product development and manufacturing processes
• Lead regional raw material supplier development and drive material validation activities until approval for series production
• Presentation of test results internally and externally (development partners, suppliers, and customers)
• Close cooperation with central material department in Stuttgart, with purchasing and SQA departments, with internal and external development partners and with suppliers and research institutes
• Support product and process audits at MAHLE plants to ensure material and product quality in series production 
• Support process audits at raw material supplier plants to ensure material quality in development phase and in series production
• Creation and maintenance of material standards
   

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree with good expertise in mechanical, physical, and chemical material properties of aluminium alloys and stainless steel
• Familiar with knowledge of material composition design, production processes (casting, rolling, extrusion), quality control, performance testing, etc., and master relevant technical standards, technical specifications, and regulations in this profession.
• Knowledge of automotive thermal product and manufacturing technologies (brazing, welding, stamping etc.), able to promote the application of new materials and processes in products, and improve product performance and quality.
• Experiences in the handling of technical work packages and development projects
• Good command of English
• Team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
