Your Contribution

As a Cost Engineer, you will work as team member of Global Cost Engineering team to support all cost calculation and cost workshops with Asia projects and suppliers, and your key responsibilities would be:

• Sourcing Process:
  1. Creation of product calculations (green field / brown field) for purchase parts
  2. Support of purchasing functions in negotiation of purchase parts based on cost analytical approach
  3. Identification of optimization potentials in design or production process for purchase parts
  4. Participation in Process Optimization Workshops
• Acquisition Process:
  1. Creation of Product Calculations for purchase parts based on early concept status.
  2. Discussion of cost drivers and optimization potentials on early concepts with purchasing and design
  3. Discussion of target prices for MAHLE`s calculation with purchasing based on design maturity and market environment
• Supplier Workshops:
  1. Planning, organizing, execution and follow up on Cost Audits at suppliers with the aim to understand Cost Structures, Production technologies and cost drivers
  2. Planning, organizing, execution and follow up on Process Optimization workshops at suppliers with the aim to improve product cost for MAHLE purchase parts at suppliers

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Bechelor degree or above, major in engineering or economic studies. At least 3 years experience in cost engineering function or process planning
• High technical understanding and methodology of metal products, processes, cost drivers and specifications
• Skills in Production planning, Process optimization, Material and process flow
• Cost breakdown analysis and cost audit skills
• Negotiation experience required
• Experience and competences in working with global teams
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter desirable
• Business fluent in English and Chinese
