Your Contribution

As Commodity Leader, you will be guiding and overseeing a team of Commodity Buyers, ensuring the effective management of supplier relationships, achievement of purchasing targets, and continuous process improvement for assigned commodities. The Commodity Leader supports strategic sourcing activities, resolves escalated issues, and drives the implementation of best practices in procurement operations.

  • Supervise and coach Commodity Buyers in the daily execution of purchasing duties, supplier development, and problem resolution.
  • Support the Commodity Manager in setting and executing commodity strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate sourcing activities for multiple projects or new product introductions, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Lead escalated negotiations with suppliers regarding pricing, contracts, and disputes.
  • Monitor and analyze commodity market trends, reporting risks and opportunities to management.
  • Track team performance against cost, quality, and delivery KPIs; initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive process improvements and support digitalization initiatives in procurement systems and workflows.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between procurement, engineering, quality, and production.
  • Ensure the documentation and implementation of compliance, ethics, and company policies within the team.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training for procurement team members.

Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related fields. More than 5 years purchasing ralated work experience. Proven experience of leading or mentoring a small procurement team.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to make strategic decisions and drive process change.
  • Proficient English and Mandarin skills (oral and written).
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced data analysis (Excel, Power BI) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of commodity markets and supplier evaluation, good negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
