Commodity Buyer
Thermal and Fluid Systems will be able to access production competencies in filtration developed within the group over many years, enabling it to place competitive future-oriented technologies on the market. MAHLE is committed to thermal management and intends to continue growth in this area.
Your Contribution
As Commodity Buyer, you will be responsible for new projects sourcing activity and product portfolio management, utilizing cost analysis tools to establish cost frameworks for key components, and identifying and develop new supplier sources to support BU’s new product development.
- New Sourcing Activities:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to requirements and specifications for new projects.
- Conduct market research identifies potential suppliers and their capabilities.
- Request and quotations from suppliers, alignment with cost targets and project.
- Present sourcing recommendations for new projects to relevant stakeholders, considering lead times, costs, and risks.
- Finalize supplier selection with internal stakeholders. - Product Portfolio Management:
- Monitor product performance supplier delivery timelines to ensure smooth execution ongoing projects.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers to address issues, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment on expectations.
- Update internal teams on sourcing progress and resolve bottlenecks to meet goals of project team. - Cost Framework Setup:
- Collect cost data from suppliers and internal teams to update cost analysis models.
- Use cost analysis tools to benchmark component pricing and flag abnormal deviations. - Supplier Development:
- Evaluate the performance of existing suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Initiate contact with potential suppliers, conducting initial assessments to verify suitability for current and future projects. - Cost Framework Setup:
- Conduct detailed cost breakdown analysis for key components to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Engage with suppliers to discuss cost drivers and negotiate improved terms or pricing. - Supplier Development:
- Conduct audits or performance reviews of key suppliers to assess operational capabilities and compliance with standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential new suppliers to diversify sourcing options for upcoming projects.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above, major in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related fields. More than 3 years purchasing ralated work experience.
- Familiar with the purchasing process and possess relevant experience
- Capable of collecting and analyzing price information and applying it to daily work
- Proficient in office software
- Workable English skill
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing environments
