Commodity Buyer

Your Contribution
As Commodity Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the supplier base for assigned commodities to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance for BU2 China. This position is accountable for achieving purchasing targets through effective commercial and technical measures, while ensuring that the inbound material purchasing process runs smoothly and efficiently to support business operations.
- Supplier Base Management
- Manage and develop the supplier base for the assigned commodity within BU2 China.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Achieving Purchasing Targets:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve top-down purchasing targets set by the organization.
- Utilize both commercial and technical measures to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the smooth operation of inbound material purchasing activities.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production demands without excess.
- Address any supply chain disruptions promptly to minimize impact on operations.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above, major in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related fields. more than 2 years purchasing experience in metal parts (casting, Fasteners, or assembly parts)
- Strong knoledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers for metal parts.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to make strategic decisions and drive process change.
- Solid understanding of commodity markets and supplier evaluation, good negotiation and contract management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
