SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Set-up Operator to join our team. Responsibilities include using tools/equipment such as micrometer, calipers and gages, studies blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished workpiece and starting machine operation to adjust machine controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

Reviews and follows Safety policies and procedures.

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, Adcole reports, and CMM reports, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, tools, attachments, locators, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Understand and know when to change tools.
  • Understand Offsets and adjustments and how they are made.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Knows and understands how to recover the machine in cases of tool damage, machine fault or other similar circumstances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 1 or more years of manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Ability to use instruments for measuring and identifying defects.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbalize instructions in English.
  • Experience with PLC or CNC operations, preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Pay Scale: $19.91 – $22.50 per hour starting wages

Additional pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts: $0.60 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 and12-hour shifts available
  • 12-hour shift options are rotating shifts
  • 2nd and 3rd shifts available
  • Overtime
