Your Contribution
- Process Planning & Coordination
- Assist in preparing Process plans, schedules, and timelines for new camshaft development.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (Design, CNC machining, Grinding, Heat Treatment, Quality, SCM).
- Track progress of activities like prototype manufacturing, tool readiness, fixture development, and PPAP documentation
- Cost Monitoring & Budget Support
- Assist in capturing Process cost elements (tooling cost, machining cost, prototype cost).
- Monitor Process expenses and report deviations to senior managers.
- Help in preparing cost‑benefit or ROI analyses for new Process.
- Support to New Development
- Support in feasibility studies for new camshaft profiles and specifications.
- Participate in trials (pre‑production runs, machining trials, hardening trials).
- Track and document design changes, ECNs, and technical updates from OEMs.
- Customer Interaction & Communication
- Assist in preparing technical presentations and Process status reports for customers.
- Follow up on customer requirements, approvals, prototype delivery schedules.
- Maintain communication for drawing revisions, tolerance discussions, and PPAP requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated Process records (APQP documents, timelines, milestones).
- Prepare weekly/monthly Process status reports.
- Support preparation of PPAP Level 3 documents (Control Plan, PFMEA, Flow Chart, MSA, SPC).
- Process & Tooling Coordination
- Follow up with tool room for camshaft-specific tooling (cam milling tools, turning fixtures, grinding wheels etc..).
- Track readiness of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and inspection tools.
- Monitor tooling trials and ensure issues are addressed.
- Risk Management
- Identify Process development risks (tool delays, supplier issues, machining capability gaps).
- Maintain risk logs and follow up with teams on mitigation actions.
- Escalate critical risks to the Process Manager early.
- Maintain confidentiality in handling pricing and customer-related data.
- Coordinate with suppliers for raw materials, forging & Casting suppliers, subcontract operations.
- Collaboration with CFT team members.
Your Experience and Qualification
- BE (Mech/Auto) degree.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in Process management role in automotive industry.
- Must possess knowledge and experience of handling automotive components made of steel and cast iron.
- Having knowledge IATF 16949, drawings, GD&T
- Prefer the knowledge and experience of automotive components, like Camshaft, Crankshaft etc….
- Preferring the experience of machining process like Shaft Grinding, Turning & Induction hardening.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Process development management, PLM tools effective utilization
- Understand the requirements of PPAP, FMEA, Control plan & APQP
- Ability to prepare the Budgeting and costing for the Process management
- Strong computer skills, including MS office – Tools like, Strong Excel knowledge and data management skill, PPT, SAP.
- Strong communication skills: (written and verbal) to effectively convey information to stakeholders and team members. Fluent written and spoken English.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills: to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple Processes simultaneously.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Passion to learn new concepts, technologies, and processes.
