Job Description – Asst Manager - Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Organization: MAHLE Engine Components India Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Pithampur (M.P.)
Function: Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Work Experience: 4-8 Years
Role Purpose
To ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain operations at MAHLE by effectively managing supplier schedules, material availability, logistics, imports, and inventory, ensuring uninterrupted production aligned with OEM requirements and internal manufacturing plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchase Order Execution & Supplier Coordination
- Ensure timely release and communication of Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers.
- Monitor supplier acknowledgment, production status, and dispatch commitments.
- Coordinate closely with the Purchase team for PO amendments, pricing updates, and supplier clarifications.
- Address supply risks proactively and escalate delays impacting production.
2. Production Planning & Schedule Management
- Release firm and forecast schedules to suppliers based on production plans and customer demand (OEM schedules).
- Ensure supplier alignment with JIT (Just-In-Time) and line-side delivery requirements.
- Monitor schedule adherence and take corrective actions to mitigate line stoppages.
3. Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Plan and manage inbound logistics for domestic and imported materials.
- Coordinate with transporters for timely pickup and delivery of materials to plant.
- Track shipments to ensure adherence to delivery timelines and resolve in-transit issues.
- Optimize freight utilization and control logistics costs.
4. Material Pickup & Inward Operations
- Coordinate daily material pickups from suppliers as per dispatch schedules.
- Ensure smooth gate entry, unloading, and warehouse coordination.
- Verify shipment documentation (Invoice, LR, E-way bill, Packing list, etc.).
- Ensure timely GRN (Goods Receipt Note) posting in SAP to enable inventory visibility.
5. Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of Raw Materials (RM), Bought-Out Parts (BOP), and consumables.
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages and excess inventory.
- Ensure adherence to FIFO/FEFO and proper storage practices in coordination with stores team.
- Perform regular stock reconciliation and support audits.
6. Import & International Logistics Handling
- Manage end-to-end import processes including shipment tracking, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and global suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, duty structures, and company policies.
- Track import shipments to ensure timely availability for production.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Finance, and Stores teams.
- Resolve issues related to quality rejection, shortages, and supplier delays.
- Support new project launches by ensuring timely material readiness.
8. ERP & MIS Reporting
- Maintain accurate data in ERP related to POs, schedules, and inventory.
- Generate MIS reports on material availability, supplier performance, and inventory status.
- Analyze supply chain metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering -Mechanical/ Production/Operations
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management (preferred)
Experience
- 4–10 years of experience in automotive supply chain / manufacturing environment
