Electronic and mechatronics components are playing an increasingly crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of the powertrain and advancing e-mobility. With its electric drives, actuators and auxiliaries, and control and power electronics product groups, MAHLE already offers relevant solutions in this area today.
Your Contribution
-
Structure all product related work in regard to function, quality, cost and timeline.

Coordinate the work packages of Development and ensure timely decisions in Core Team and Extended Team.

Create transparency of the Sub-team progress and ensure proper reporting.

Ensure customer requirements and confirm feasibility (related to product functions) and create lists of requirements/specifications for purchased components and submit to project buyer.

Create and continuously detail product design throughout project lifetime (in accordance with respective maturity requirements and manufacturability) including a component and prototype concept.

Conduct functional analysis/ Design-FMEA (incl. list of critical functions and selection of special characteristics).

Derive design options and ensure decision making for most suitable design solution.

Ensure robustness of design under all known boundary conditions considering the planned production process.

Ensure availability, quality, validation and release of prototypes and coordinate all related activities (e.g. with internal or external prototype shops.

Ensure fulfillment of product requirements under adherence of the customer list of requirements and the integration of known lessons learned.

Conduct the needed reviews to release the product design (including release of drawings).
-
Validate pre-series parts and review customer-validation-parts.
-
Confirm DV with series parts (including customer validation approval).
-
Identify design and functionality risks.

Highlight and escalate not fulfilled DEV deliverables and escalate any risks in customer prototype or series part delivery.

Create bill of material (BOM), 3D data, internal and external drawings and ensure that system master data are maintained in engineering data system.

Stop delivery of prototypes and pre-series parts in case of a deviation.

Ensure creation, reconciliation, approval and tracking of the design verification plan (DVP) and validate product design accordingly.

Initiate and verify simulations.

Create and maintain an engineering change documentation, and make sure it has been duly communicated, particularly to PRO and PUR.

Put in and maintain the documents related to the Domain deliverables.

Your Experience & Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanics.
- At least 4 years’ experience as product engineer in drive units , e-mobility systems would be a plus.
- Hands-on mechanical fabrication and prototyping skills.
- Previous direct involvement in product launch for mass production.
- Experience with DFMEA, 8D, DOE other structured evaluation and problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge on Design Validation / Product Validation from R&D point of view.
- Experience selecting and working directly with suppliers and subcontractors.
