SUMMARY:

The SAP Developer & Functional Analyst is a function of the Business Excellence department.  The role is responsible for managing the optimization and interfacing between the programming for our SAP Systems Modules (PRD and PEW within MM and SD) and our operational processes.  This position is also responsible for documenting and training related to programming changes that might impact the operational steps and process flow.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify potentials for improvement within SAP Programming in MM and SD (Mahle's PRD and PEW)
  • Implement programming changes within SAP MM and SD (Mahle's PRD and PEW) to improve operations: automated reporting, KPI monitoring, background jobs, and functionality within transactions
  • Coordinate with Operations personnel (Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Shipping for Small Parcel & LTL, Bulk Pick, Assembly, Returns) to ensure the programmed processes within SAP best align for efficiency and optimization on the shop floor
  • Work with Sales and Customer Service to identify improvement potentials linked to automated inventory feeds, EDI communications, and automated reports for data communication.  Ensure effective management of  sales orders and outbound deliveries.
  • Ensure correct setup of master data (customer, vendor, part) and enable optimization via mass download/upload
  • Optimize product flow via storage location and bin setup,
  • Ensure programming changes made for one location are implemented and standardized within the region
  • Align with the global MO team to ensure the regional practices remain in sync with the global ones
  • Create documentation and provide training to expand organizational knowledge at all levels regarding SAP functionality

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Distribution, Manufacturing, Industrial, Engineering, or relevant field and 5 years direct experience.  Alternately, 10+ years relevant operational experience without a degree.
  • Experience to access current code and make code changes and/or optimize / troubleshoot PRD and PEW modules.  Code and make changes as needed.
  • EDI big plus.(G Commerce / Core Centric, but any EDI package experience)
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous improvement processes
  • Operations and warehouse management experience highly preferred
  • Self-starter; dedicated, detail oriented individual
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks while maintaining control of own workload.  This would include projects.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as work / communicate effectively within department and with colleagues across various levels of management and functions.
