Senior Principal Development Engineer / Technical Specialist

Working within the Development team you will be actively involved in delivering and managing customer projects for future powertrain applications as well as supporting the development of our team and its capabilities. Across the department we provide consultancy services to our clients in the areas of advanced internal combustions engines, batteries, hybrid systems, low carbon fuels and more. The team is our strength, and we require exceptional engineers with an inquisitive and flexible mindset to support the wide range of projects that we deliver. In the role, you will use your specialist technical knowledge to help deliver a variety of projects across the business as well as supporting the technical development of the other engineers within the department.

Performance & Emissions (P&E) Specialism*:

• Experience of leading ICE development projects
• ICE P&E development (Gasoline, H2 & Alcohol fuels)
• Combustion system layout
• Performance target assessment & setting
• DVP development & test methodology
• Aftertreatment technologies
• Supporting design & performance simulation activities
• Leading development of MPT’s P&E capabilities and procedures

General Requirements:

• Strong awareness of customer & commercial requirements
• Technical report and presentation writing
• Supporting sales activities and quote preparation
• Line management experience
• Project management experience
• An inquisitive mind with attention to detail
• Data manipulation & interpretation

• Hypercar clean sheet engine development
• High-efficiency low-cost range extender development
• Motorcycle fuel economy upgrade
• H2ICE conversion
