As a Design Engineer at MAHLE Powertrain, you will play a key role in the design and development of innovative powertrain systems and components for a range of automotive applications. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to projects that drive efficiency, performance, and sustainability in mobility solutions.

 

Your Contribution

  • Develop detailed 3D designs and engineering drawings for powertrain components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, NX).
  • Support concept generation, feasibility studies, and design optimisation throughout the product development cycle.
  • Work closely with analysis, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance, durability, and cost targets.
  • Contribute to design reviews, applying engineering best practices, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA techniques.
  • Provide technical support during prototype build, testing, and validation phases.
  • Ensure all design activities comply with internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with global MAHLE teams, suppliers, and customers to align technical solutions with project objectives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to enhance design efficiency and product quality.

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer with a passion for automotive technology and an eye for design excellence.

 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in component or system design within the automotive or mechanical engineering sector.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA or Siemens NX preferred).
  • Understanding of design for manufacture, materials, and production processes.
  • Knowledge of design validation, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about innovation and future propulsion technologies.
