Note: This role is located on client site at Crewe and is a Fixed Term Contract until end of 2023

Role & Responsibilities

Provide technician support to the Bentley Vehicle Motion (formerly Powertrain) department (EM/X) to aid the project teams in the delivery of engine and transmission calibration projects to production.

 

Summary

  • Maintaining development vehicle fleet, covering:
    • Tracking vehicle build integration levels (hardware & software updates) and ensuring fleet vehicles are up to date
    • Coordinate workshop activities
    • Fault diagnosis and rectification (where possible or coordination with vehicle workshop to rectify issues)
    • Update and document test vehicles with development software and hardware
    • Installation of test equipment
  • Prototype build support
  • Preparation of vehicles for test
  • Support during overseas environmental test trips (up to 3 weeks in duration)
  • Updating vehicles with appropriate development software and hardware, either directly or via Bentley workshop
  • Manage spares and measurement equipment
  • Conducting specific vehicle testing and data acquisition in support of engineers

 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience servicing and maintaining vehicles
  • Experience of vehicle and powertrain test activities
  • Prior experience working with development and prototype vehicles is preferential
  • Prior experience working on hybrid and electric vehicles is preferential
  • Good problem solving and evaluation techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Available to travel for extended periods (up to 3 weeks at a time), sometimes with short notice, worldwide
  • Computer literate using MS office tools
  • Full valid UK driving license
