Purpose of Job
The development of model based control systems for engine, vehicle, EV torque control, thermal management & data acquisition applications working with internal and external teams on research, prototype development and small volume production solutions.
Duties
- To support model based control system developments
- To refine / define strategy requirements
- To develop software in Simulink & Targetlink
- To support system modelling, software testing & simulation (Sil / MiL)
- To support HIL rig development, set-up for client projects and deliver sign-off testing
- To support the design & build of custom signal interfaces, instrumentation, test rigs, etc
- To support issue investigations when required
- To provide support to projects off-site when required
Skills and Experience
- Experience with control systems development including code generation
- Experience working with MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, auto code generation, source control
- Familiar with ETAS INCA & Vector analysis tools
- Practical knowledge of working with CAN networks & protocols, manipulating dbc files & configuring messages
- Familiar with ISO26262
- Experience with programming in C / C++
- Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies)
Competencies
- Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar mechatronics / software development
- Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies)
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team
- Able to travel to work at client / partner sites, UK or overseas, for periods up to 4 weeks at a time
- Must be eligible to work in the UK to apply for this position
