Purpose of Job

The development of model based control systems for engine, vehicle, EV torque control, thermal management & data acquisition applications working with internal and external teams on research, prototype development and small volume production solutions.

Duties

  • To support model based control system developments 
  • To refine / define strategy requirements
  • To develop software in Simulink & Targetlink
  • To support system modelling, software testing & simulation (Sil / MiL)  
  • To support HIL rig development, set-up for client projects and deliver sign-off testing
  • To support the design & build of custom signal interfaces, instrumentation, test rigs, etc  
  • To support issue investigations when required
  • To provide support to projects off-site when required

 

Skills and Experience  

  • Experience with control systems development including code generation
  • Experience working with MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, auto code generation, source control
  • Familiar with ETAS INCA & Vector analysis tools 
  • Practical knowledge of working with CAN networks & protocols, manipulating dbc files & configuring messages
  • Familiar with ISO26262
  • Experience with programming in C / C++
  • Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies)

 

Competencies

  • Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar mechatronics / software development
  • Familiar with automotive electrical environment (controls, component & comms technologies)
  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team
  • Able to travel to work at client / partner sites, UK or overseas, for periods up to 4 weeks at a time     
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK to apply for this position
