SUMMARY:
The Production Line Team Lead acts as the first responder providing immediate support to team members in areas including but not limited to safety, quality, machine availability or function and personal support.  The Production Working Line Lead functions as a producer when not supporting the team in these areas.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Directs set up and adjustment of machinery and equipment.
  • Interprets specifications/job orders to employees and assigns duties.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, safety and morale.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and safety of the department.
  • Trains new or newly assigned employees on their job duties and job responsibilities, including the quality and safety aspects of their job.
  • Performs regular production activities when not addressing downtime issues.
  • Reviews process documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supports and completes 5s audits as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility.
  • Provide back-up support when Production Group Leader is not available.
  • Ability to work all designated shifts.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Production Line Lead has limited responsibilities for the direction of production employees.  Specifically, they can assign and direct the work of hourly production employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Analysis, problem solving, process and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication / inter-personal skills.
  • Organized and possess good decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to operate email system, prepare basic presentation materials using Excel and PowerPoint.
