Shipping Administrator
Your Contribution
As a Shipping Administrator reporting to the Logistics Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing shipping, warehouse, and inventory activities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, as well as proficiency in SAP and other computer systems. The Shipping Administrator works closely with customers, production control, customer service, and other plant departments to maintain inventory accuracy, support schedule conformance, ensure shipping compliance, and prevent customer supply disruptions while providing excellent internal and external customer service.
This position requires strong organizational abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to perform with little supervision. A high degree of analytical ability and interpersonal skills are required as well as proficiency with computer programs.
This role is responsible to:
- Knowledge of ERP system, specifically SAP to complete all related transactions to shipping and warehouse management.
- Set-up premium transportation as required to ensure zero-part outages with customer demand.
- Coordinate with customers to monitor ASN. (Advanced Shipping Notices) Implement corrective action plan to ensure future compliance.
- Monitor finished goods parts availability to allow for 100% schedule conformance.
- Communicate short shipments to customers and production control team with 100% accuracy.
- Maintain inventory accuracy within respective MRP controllers and SAP parameters.
- Coordinate efforts with all plant functions to ensure MRP system integrity.
- Work closely with customer service reps to maintain accuracy in customer scheduled releases to ensure zero-part shortages.
- Manage customer shipping board for timely truck departure.
- Complete external and internal customer communication as required.
- Retain accurate documentation for outbound deliveries.
- Generate shipping documents for both domestic and international customers and schedule expedited freight as required using SAP and cargo base.
- Clear all open deliveries (VL011) weekly.
- Perform related duties as required by direction of management.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Associate degree in business/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field and minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing logistics environment.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education.
