SUMMARY

 

The Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection of machined work pieces and assemblies at inspection or machine station to ensure conformance to quality specifications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • Uses visual standards, inspection standards, and other basic standards to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
  • Performs inspections as required by provided standards and instructs personnel on how to perform sorts internally and externally.
  • Maintains records / reports of audit results (sort and rework, moisture analysis reports) and HFI ledger and compliance testing log.
  • Capable of using basic gages (with minimal training) that are commonly used for dimensional analysis.
  • Ability to operate optical comparator, surface roughness tester, contracted, moisture analysis tester, load tester, burst tester and fork truck.
  • Capable of auditing to Packaging Standards to assure packaging conformance.
  • Reports findings to Inspection Supervisor.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform sorts.
  • May create and issue temporary work instructions for rework and sorting.
  • Uses independent judgement to determine whether parts are good or scrap.
  • Ability to drive forklift in order to move parts.
  • Works closely with Supervisors, QA Technicians, and other personnel on quality, scrap, and productivity issues.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility.
  • Ability to work all designated shifts.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Will train
