SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor (1st Shift 7am - 3:30pm) will lead safety and qualify within a designated production area and throughout the plant, directing and coordinating the daily activities involved in producing products. This position will also provide leadership to employees by setting the example, exercising good communication techniques, supporting company’s policies and programs and treating employees fairly and consistently. Focus on improvement activities by reviewing and analyzing data to determine areas of opportunities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge of production lines involving robots
  • General supervisory experience of production workers and related tasks.
  • Understand, calculate and reviews efficiency, OEE, scrap and delivery reports to implement strategies that will meet or exceed required operating targets.   
  • Investigate deviations in efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery, PPM and other measurables, determines root cause thru tools (A3, 8D, 5-Why, Kaizen, etc.) and works with direct reports/peers to implement effective countermeasure.
  • Develop, implement and sustain the 5S culture.
  • Provide employees with guidance, counseling, training and development.
  • Ensure that inventory is controlled properly through reporting and scrapping in production workbench.
  • Study production schedules and estimates manpower requirements to meet the schedule.
  • Provide a safe and productive work environment.
  •  Deliver accurate and timely feedback to direct reports to motivate improvement and acknowledge job well done.
  • Communicate / drive adherence to company policies, business plans and conditions to employees so they understand and perform to the operating requirements.
  • Facilitates inclusion and an engaged environment to maximize retention and minimize absenteeism. 
  • Interact and work with program management team members in order to meet requirements of new launches/new model year production.  This will include Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing process.
  • Overtime is a requirement for the position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or technical field from a four-year college or university preferred or supervisor/leadership experience (3+ years) required.
  • Experience in plastic molding / assembly preferred, as well as production lines involving robots
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, process and troubleshooting analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and bill of materials.
  • Working knowledge of QS9000, ISO14001, TS16949 and OHSA 18001standards, as applicable to the position.
  • Dynamic communication / inter-personal skills.
  • Highly organized and possess good decision-making skills.
  • Must have demonstrable technical presentation skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
  • Knowledgeable in their duties and responsibilities in accordance with health and safety compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in the company's duties and responsibilities in accordance with environmental compliance.
  • Excellent attendance record.
