OPEX Engineer
Your Role & Responsibilities
Our OPEX Engineers work with the MAHLE Production System and will primarily focus on optimization of processes; providing efficient, cost effective manufacturing methods and tools that drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the plant. Our OPEX Engineer is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Continuous Improvement in the area assigned of the plant.
- Develop, Implement, and Maintain Continuous Improvement projects that may include: reduction in cycle times, reduction in scrap, the improvement of processes, etc.
- Assist in the education, coaching and mentoring of all employees in lean methodology and leading lean manufacturing initiatives and programs throughout the plant such as work flow improvement by Value Stream Mapping, 5S, work station efficiency, etc.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine current and future states of manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Develop and give input to new line locations and layouts.
- Develop standard work table instructions, WIP standards and value stream maps.
- Lead Continuous Improvement workshops for assigned areas.
Your Skills & Strengths
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Business Management, or Engineering field, from a four-year college or university
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
