SUMMARY

The Production Planner (Murfreesboro, TN) will manage the supply chain and component inventories at optimal levels to support production schedules.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes Master Planning Schedule and Daily Schedule to establish sequence and lead time of preparation of products to meet finished goods inventory requirements and shipping dates.
  • Analyzes plant capacity data and performs algebraic and basic mathematical calculations to determine the timing of manufacturing processes, tools, and personnel requirements.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine status of ongoing production requirements and assigned projects.  Will alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions and expedite operations to meet shipping requirements as necessary.
  • Prepare production reports and graphs for weekly production planning meetings.
  • Lead daily and weekly overtime meetings with supervisors and management
  • Enter schedule information into SAP as related to production.
  • Maintain bar-coding templates, defaults, and customer information to maintain the automated bar-coding system.
  • Effectively define root cause and corrective action plans.
  • Analyze, submit, verify and communicate release requirements .
  • SAP data management of customer master records for new and existing part numbers.
  • Create and maintain customer material information records.
  • Assist with production supervision as necessary
  • Assist with assembling small package orders and with returnable dunnage issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university - prefer Enginnering or Supply Chain
  • 3 years of related experience idealy some experience / exposure to material flow, proces improvement and/or pull through systems
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP preferable or similar ERP
  • Strong computer knowledge to include Microsoft Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Dynamic communication / inter-personal skills, as well as exemplary written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly organized and possess good decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Any experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, KANBAN or WHIP preferred
  • Effectively define root cause and corrective action plans
