SUMMARY:

The Supervisor of Technical Services will manage their respective team (Engineering, Maintenance, Injection Molding) to achieve that goals of the plant while delivering operational improvements which will result in bottom line, quantified results. This role will focus is the cost optimization of MAHLE’s manufacturing process through the strategic development and allocation of MAHLE’s technical resources while supporting the creation of a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the MPS deployment by creating a lean and continuous improvement roadmap that includes a comprehensive analysis and prioritization of key opportunities. Include and engage cross functional members at all levels of the organization as well as execute initiatives that will drive sustainable results.
  • Work with the Plant teams to drive / foster a cultural transformation through the business by building effective matrix teams, driving involvement and talent multiplication to deliver successful productivity, cost reduction and/or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the business to improve / simplify existing processes and ensure capability of the new ones to drive reliability, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Manage Engineering, Maintenance, Injection Molding (IMM) technical teams.
  • Create a culture which supports disciplined & systematic process management; data driven decision making; continuous improvement aligned with established strategy & objectives.  Participate in integrated process development for new program launches and approve process design per PDP requirements.
  • Serve as a leader of change and innovation.  Challenge status quo, effectively influence others (at all levels of the organization) to embrace change, overcome resistance and seek out outstanding ideas and implement.
  • Conduct studies in cost, quality, productivity, flow, value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Directs department personnel in establishing standards / policies for standardization, selection, installation, modification, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment and tooling. Coordinate the scope and specifications for new equipment and tooling, establishes the leadership for effective maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Establish and control operation and capital budgets required to achieve required profit margins.
  • Review and select new technology required to ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Strong understanding and control of safety codes to realize the impact of potential working hazards.
  • Direct Engineers and Technicians in performing projects that will meet plant goals for productivity, efficiency, new product launch schedules, scrap and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Direct supervision of teams in area of responsibility: (1) Engineering - Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers & Process Engineers; (2) Maintenance – Assembly; (3) Injection Molding (IMM) – Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Setup Technicians & Tooling Technicians

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired, 10 years of Engineering or Maintenance experience required.
  • Automotive manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Proven understanding & successful application of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of business problems.
  • Injection Molding Supervisor – 10 years direct experience with injection molding production
  • Engineering Supervisor – 10 years direct experience with Automotive assembly Engineering preferable in injection molded parts, or thermal components.
  • Maintenance Supervisor – 10 years direct experience within production Maintenance, assembly process strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge required in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. 
  • Proven / effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Provide decisive leadership and team facilitation in the face of adversity - define tasks clearly, identify and coordinate resources, and execute a go-forward plan.
  • Define goals, metrics, and levels of success for internal/external customers.
  • Proven planning abilities, including successful execution of such plans.
  • Proven execution of change management within an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong understanding and control of safety codes to realize the impact of potential working hazards.
  • Demonstration of flexibility and adaptation to a changing environment.
  • Must have strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proven success operating in a high ambiguity environment is required.
  • Ascertain how to react and successfully handle difficult situations at multiple levels within the organization.
