Inbound Logistics Group Leader

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for oversight of all logistics material handlers and related processes, and equipment.  In addition, may be required to perform the functions of the material handler position as needed. Drives electric powered industrial truck equipped with devices, such as forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory.  Incumbent will provide leadership to supervised employees by exercising good communication techniques, supporting the company’s policies and procedures and treating all employees fairly and in accordance with MAHLE standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Oversees all personnel activities and resolves any issues.
• Assists with shipping and receiving administrative functions.
• Ability to offer excellent customer service while interacting with internal and external customers.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Monitors material handler operations. 
• Cross trains personnel and balances manpower resources.
• Oversees packaging inventory (order, reconcile, and review for obsolescence).
• Ensures that equipment safety and general equipment maintenance is sustained.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility.
• Assists material handlers when there are issues with the scanners or movements in SAP.
• As necessary, prints bills of lading and posts deliveries as complete.
• Responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment.
• Ability to work all designated shifts.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• 3 years of Shipping/Receiving experience.
• 1 year of information systems experience.
