Your Contribution 

 

As a Head of Logistics reporting to the Murfreesboro Plant Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team. Your objective is to develop short-term and long-term strategic plans for the logistics function and drive continuous improvement through improved efficiency, cost reduction and improved service delivery while achieving of all elements of customer scorecard success.

 

This role is responsible to:

  • Develop the vision / roadmap to support long-term strategy and future growth of the organization while managing the day-to-day operations of the logistics.

  • Manage all logistics operation to ensure outstanding supplier relationships while achieving all elements of our customer scorecard and plant KPIs. 

  • Collaborate with vendors to develop a robust supply chain and manage EDI requirements.

  • Manage the procurement of mass production raw material, balance physical inventory and prevent line shutdown.  

  • Implement best practices related to forecasting and supply inventory control.

  • Manage warehouse operations including stock management related to shipping, cycle counts, SAP input/management and warehousing concepts.

  • Develop and report team measurables departmental budgets (expenses, inventory and transportation). 

  • Develop, implement and sustain the 5S culture (A3, 8D, 5-Why, Kaizen, etc.). 

 

Your Experience & Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline, from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Significant professional experience in Logistics in a manufacturing environment (strong preference for automotive); material flow experience is strongly preferred. 

  • Management experience, preferably covering all areas of responsibility for this position.

  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Substantial experience in strategic implementation / department optimization.

  • Extensive experience working with MRP and JIT principals

  • Decisive leadership and team facilitation to define tasks clearly, identify and coordinate resources, and execute a go-forward plan.

  • Ability to define goals, metrics, and levels of success for internal/external customers.

  • SAP proficiency is strongly preferred.

  • APICS Certification (CPIM Designation) desired.
