NAS / SAN Storage Administrator
Your Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintenance and troubleshooting issues related to storage environment
- Planning and maintaining firmware upgrade and/or patching of storage devices
- Disaster Recovery tests – planning, preparation and participation
- SME on storage and virtualization
- Storage provisioning on various storage devices
- Monitoring and performance analysis (Nagios, BMC Remedy, Wotan)
- Automation through Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl,Ansible)
- Support in technical Projects and creation and maintenance of documentation
- SAN (Hardware equipment, zoning, storage systems) management
- Installation and cabling of SAN switches and storage systems.
- Setup and configuration of switches (dual fabric) and storage systems
- Firmware management
- Management of wwpns (world wide port names/numbers), SAN Zoning configuration, storage pools, storage volumes, hosts or host clusters(mapping/unmapping)
- SVC (SAN Volume Controller) management
- Configuration as a (stretched) 4-node cluster (2 i/o-groups)
- Import/modification/deletion of managed disks from external storage (e.g. Infinibox volumes)
- Creation/modification/deletion of storage pools, storage volumes, hosts etc.
- Mapping/unmapping of volumes to hosts or host clusters
- Replacement of defective parts
- Firmware updates
- NetApp ONTAP (Activties / knowledge in)
- Operation of aggregates, SVM, Volumes, Shares, Permissions Administration, Data protection, Metrocluster, High Availability, Single/Mulit node as well as ONTAP-Select, Cluster,SnapCenter/SnapManager, ActiveIQ Unified Manager, Storage Efficiency, brocade cluster switches, Upgrade / Update ONTAP (SP, Disks, Shelf, Bridges, Switches, ...), ONTAP Network, Installation & SetUp, Licensing, ProLion ClusterLion
- Protocols NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, knowledgeable in deploying, managing , operating including upgrades for ONTAP Select
