Project Buyer

Your Contribution:

As a Project Buyer you will be responsible for the achievement of fulfilling customer deliverables for all purchasing requirements of the project. Cost targets, working with approved supplier panel, development of new suppliers for the thermal management components, supplier PPAP timing, USMCA content while achieving purchasing related objectives & goals, manage cost and project timeline at the respective milestones and quality gates within PDP.

• Leads Purchasing activities for components and materials as a key member of the project core team within the Product Development Process (PDP). Regional and global as assigned.
• Work with Engineering at initial design concept to assist with attaining target cost.
• In conjunction with Supplier Quality and Engineer create list of critical purchased components, coordinate and conduct technical reviews with suppliers.
• Lead sourcing decision committees, in accordance with MAHLE Purchasing Procedures and work with commodity buyer (regional and global) to leverage best overall landed costs.
• Ensure completion of purchased component APQP.
• Ensure purchased components meet all program milestones, track and coordinate progress between supplier and development team.

Your Experience & Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English is a must, Japanese, German or Slovene is a plus).
• SAP knowledge.
• Experience of automotive project purchasing required in an Automotive Manufacturing Tier 1 environment. 
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications required. 
• Strong negotiation, financial cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, time and project management skills.
• Familiarity with Quality and Manufacturing tools such as S.P.C., Poka-yoke, Pareto, Cause-Effect Analysis.
• Exposure or participation in VA/VE and lean activities.
• Travel availability.
