The position is part of the Corporate Logistics Fluids and Thermal Management team and can be located in Mexico Plants or Shared Center. Responsibility of the team includes but is not limited to, the establishment of the logistics vision, mission, strategies, processes, procedures, training/development, and compliance thereof with oversight of our 14 manufacturing plants in North America. This role involves honing the “thinking process”: analyzing the company’s processes and making suggestions on how to improve them. Working with the Operations and Supply Chain teams, this role will identify opportunities, make, and implement changes, and sustain improvements. The person in this position is responsible for using Kaizen principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

 

Your Contribution:

 

  • Leads and collaborates on improvement projects, working closely with plants to identify, prioritize and execute improvement initiatives at the site or across the organization, while ensuring alignment with operational goals. 
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction. Propose business process improvements through workflow analysis methods to support system development throughout the project life cycle. 
  • Analyzes operation performance by monitoring and creating key performance indicators (KPI’s) to identify opportunities for improvements. Use data driven insights to influence decision making and recommend areas for improvement. 
  • Works with plant management teams to standardize processes, develop or revise documentation to ensure consistent results. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current or future logistical policies, processes and procedures and develop as applicable.
  • Serve the plants as a subject matter expert in Material Planning, providing clear guidance and eliminating confusion / gray areas. 
  • Regular travel to our plant locations is expected to ensure on-site support and collaboration. (Domestic and International travel)

 

Your Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain / Continuos Improvement. 
  • 1-3 years of experience working in an Automotive Plant environment.
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems on SAP:
    • Material Management (MM)
    • Production Planning (PP) 
    • Warehouse Management (WM).
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, etc
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels in the organization 
  • Expert knowledge in standard office desktop computer applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Able to automatize excel reports through macros/scripts. 
  • Strong skills in data analysis and project management tools (Excel, Power Bi, Visio, etc)
