Your Contribution;

 

Lead the company's foreign trade strategy by ensuring full legal compliance, driving operational efficiency, and executing strategic initiatives to enhance global competitiveness. This role is responsible for overseeing government programs, certifications, identifying risks and opportunities, managing a high-performing team, and ensuring adherence to customs and trade regulations.

 

  • Design and implement the department’s strategic plan, aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the operation and compliance of trade programs and certifications, including but not limited to: IMMEX, PROSEC, REGLA OCTAVA, CIVA, OEA, CTPAT.
  • Monitor and manage daily customs and import/export operations, ensuring timelines and legal requirements are met.
  • Participate at government audits (SAT, Ministry of Economy, Customs, etc.).
  • Identify operational and compliance risks, and develop mitigation plans accordingly, including continuous improvement initiatives, process automation, and cost-reduction strategies / projects.
  • Develop KPIs to monitor performance, ensure alignment with company targets, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with authorities, customs brokers, trade associations, and industry peers.
  • Coordinate the submission of Foreign Trade reports in a timely manner, such as SE, INEGI, SAT monthly reports in order to have all authorized and updated permits for the operation of the corporation.

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business or related field. (Postgraduate education or certifications in Trade Compliance, Customs, or Project Management are a plus.)
  • Advanced English (80% +, fluent in speaking, reading, and writing).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a similar managerial role within foreign trade or customs compliance. (Automotive Industry or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican trade and customs law, international treaties, and government trade incentive programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing government audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a strategic and problem-solving mindset.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) is preferred
