Your Role & Responsibilities

Our Head of Quality is a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, serving as a true business partner to the Plant Manager.  Acting as the champion for compliance, continuous improvement and the voice of the customer, you will have overall responsibility to ensure the effectiveness & continuous improvement of the quality management system.

  • Take ownership of talent management practices within the team. This includes, but is not limited to, diversity, equity and inclusion, learning and development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all facets of the quality operation to ensure outstanding supplier relationships while achieving or exceeding all elements of our customer scorecard and plant KPIs.  Overall responsibility for:
    • Customer Quality – establish, monitor and administer plant quality goals and objectives per corporate guidelines and customer targets, review customer complaints and ensure problem resolution
    • Quality Planning – establish, monitor and administer quality APQP objectives per corporate guidelines, MAHLE targets and customer requirements
    • Supplier Quality – establish, monitor and administer plant quality goals and objectives per corporate guidelines; review supplier complaints; employ problem solving techniques to develop appropriate corrective actions; ensure implementation & resolution
    • Quality Management System – establish, monitor and maintain quality management system per corporate guidelines, IATF16949 guidelines and customer requirements 
  • Establish early warning system to ensure all customer score cards are at 100%.  Regularly check progress and scorecards, and assists with developing action plans, for KPIs not meeting 100% achievement. 
  • Assist with the creation & implementation of organizational policies and procedures to establish responsibilities for attaining objectives.  Acts as an advisor regarding key training initiatives for all Quality personnel.
  • Establish long-term relationships to the customer and strengthen contact network within different customers’ organization levels.  Foster professional working relationships with customer counterparts to enable early problem solving regarding customer metrics.

Your Skills & Strengths

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with increasing management and supervisory responsibility required; automotive experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with IATF Audits required
  • Experience in a complex manufacturing setting is highly desired.
  • Proven implementation of a preventative quality system is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and statistical tools is required.
