Your role & responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, optimization and further development of applied technologies / equipment and processes used with the aim of increasing efficiency and quality improvement
  • Initiation, support and control of improvement programs and cost reduction projects in cooperation with the production sites
  • Supporting the production sites in the development and expansion of investment projects
  • Creation, implementation and revision of manufacturing standards in cooperation with product development within the bearing shells product group
  • Execution of internal and external benchmarks on process optimization issues
  • Planning and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams
  • Ensuring and supporting the transfer of know-how between production plants
  • Overview of worldwide capacities, supply situations and available resources
  • Internal interface management, as well as cooperation with external suppliers and service providers (e.g. universities and research centers)

Your skills & strengths

  • A successfully completed master's degree in engineering (or equivalent) with focus on materials science and/or metallurgy
  • Ideally good knowledge in the field of continuous metal strip production
  • Ideally good knowledge and understanding of the mechanics and automation concepts of continuous materials processing equipment (e.g. casting lines, rolling mills,annealing lines, etc.)
  • Core competencies in optimizing production processes in terms of quality, cost, output and stability
  • Execution of feasibility studies
  • Knowledge of project management, methodological skills or specific experience in a similar role
  • Relevant experience in a similar position / industrial environment
  • Solution-oriented and pragmatic approach to complex problems as well as business understanding
  • Systematic and goal-oriented approach to work as well as strong analytical skills
  • Strong teamwork, decision-making and communication skills as well as the ability to assert oneself in matrix structures and internationally networked projects
  • Direct and open communication as well as enjoyment of intercultural and interdisciplinary cooperation
  • A positive attitude, perseverance, resilience and a sense of humor
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Experience with modern CAD systems as well as data monitoring systems desirable
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (mainly within Europe)
