Your Role & Responsibilities

This position is located in Fletcher, NC.  Our Application and Sales Engineers take full responsibility for all aspects of application and/or sales duties for the assigned customer accounts and Motorsport product lines. It includes interface with customers, teams and individuals, on numerous subjects and in coordination with our Tech Centers in Detroit and Germany, and with various MAHLE production facilities.

  • Interfaces with various individuals at our customers and different locations within the MAHLE organization. Acts as primary contact with race teams and other Motorsport product customers.
  • Coordinates performance piston and related component development projects, from the design phase through the production phase.  Coordinates research and testing activities conducted jointly with potential customers of the company’s products. This requires handling the necessary correspondence and customer contacts related to the application and sales duties of the assigned accounts. It also includes general administration duties as well as special assignments as needed.
  • Understands customer requirements and task in order to be able to lead and define the most competitive, reliable and acceptable way to fulfill these requirements within the scope of the company's strategies, goals, missions, and production capabilities.
  • Negotiates terms and pricing with customers.  Must likewise follow-up/communicate with customers for all basic Sales functions; sales orders, production requests, stock checks, order tracking, returns & credits.
  • Prepares reports concerning departmental activities as required.  Organizes and prepares technical presentations for our customers.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Power Point); SAP training provided.
  • Preferred knowledge of motorsports industry and automotive engines, components and applications.
