Your Contribution

As a Senior Tax Manager, reporting to the Head of Taxation North America, This role is responsible for the timely delivery of high‑quality quarterly income tax reporting and accurate execution of annual U.S. income tax compliance. These individual drives the tax calendar, oversees first‑line technical review, ensures data integrity across Finance and Accounting, and maintains audit‑ready documentation and controls. This position coordinates outsourced compliance support, manages external service providers, and advances standardization, automation, and process improvements across all domestic tax workstreams. This role also provides day‑to‑day direction and development for the tax team, fostering a disciplined, collaborative environment that supports reliable execution and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the preparation and first-line review of quarterly and annual U.S. income tax provision (current/deferred), ETR analysis, and return-to-provision true-ups.
  • Support the valuation allowance analysis and prepare documentation for review
  • Review complex workpapers (book‑tax differences, consolidation computations, tax attributes) prepared by team members.
  • Coordinate German GAAP reporting packages and disclosures for consolidation with the German parent.
  • Ensure documentation sufficiency and coordinate with external auditors on PBCs.
  • Support analysis of new U.S. tax legislation and prepare draft documentation for review by the Head of Tax (e.g., One Big Beautiful Bill, §174, §163(j), bonus depreciation) on provision, compliance, and cash taxes; draft technical memos.
  • Coordinate compliance calendar and deliver PBC data to external preparers; Oversee data readiness and ensure completeness and accuracy of data prepared by the team.
  • Review draft federal and state returns prepared by the service provider; monitor estimated payments, extensions, and notices.
  • Oversee state apportionment inputs, nexus tracking, and tax attributes (NOLs, credits, §163(j) carryforwards).
  • Run the compliance calendar (federal/state/local/estimates/extensions); track notices and remediation to closure.
  • Oversee indirect/property tax cadence and documentation standards
  • Provide limited support for international reporting inputs for Forms 5471/8858 via service providers and prepare provision/forecast inputs for GILTI, FTC baskets, FDII, and Subpart F.
  • Perform BEAT exposure screening and support modeling with advisors.
  • Lead tax audits day‑to‑day; own PBC tracker, issue logs, and response quality and timeliness.
  • Maintain internal control narratives, control matrices, and evidence binders for provision and compliance processes.
  • Partner with A/P, GL, FP&A, Treasury, and IT to improve data quality (fixed assets, intercompany, sales/use, JE templates).
  • Implement standard workpapers, naming conventions, and storage discipline; reduce cycle time and rework.
  • Manage advisor SOWs and deliverables; review fees vs. budget and value; escalate scope changes timely.
  • Own continuous improvement backlog; prioritize automation (Power Query/Excel, ERP extracts) and policy updates.

Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
    • Masters in Taxation is preferred
  • A valid CPA license is required
  • 7–10+ years corporate tax experience with prior review responsibilities; ASC 740 proficiency required.
  • Proven project/program management, including calendars, checkpoints, and workload balancing.
  • Strong communication skills and experience coordinating with auditors and advisors.
  • Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision and SAP is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
