NAM General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Your Contribution 

As the General Counsel you will serve as the senior legal executive for MAHLE North America and acts as a strategic business partner to executive leadership. The role provides practical, solution-oriented legal counsel that supports commercial objectives while managing legal and regulatory risks. The position leads the North American Legal function, drives talent development and succession planning, advances operational excellence through digital and AI-enabled technologies, and supports growth, innovation, restructuring, and transformation initiatives across the region.  This role will report into the Vice President / CFO Finance, Accounting & Legal Affairs North America with a dotted line reporting to the Global Group General Counsel / Vice President Corporate Legal & Insurance.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in Michigan.
• 15+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or multinational corporate environment.
• Significant automotive industry experience preferred, ideally with a Tier 1 supplier or OEM.
• Proven leadership experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience supporting commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and operational matters.
• Experience with digital transformation, legal operations, AI applications, or legal technology implementation strongly preferred.
• Entrepreneurial and business-oriented mindset.
• Partner with MAHLE’s international in-house Legal Departments to provide advice on legal issues that have a global impact on MAHLE.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with Global Functions and Region
• Strong executive presence and board-level communication skills.
• Ability to drive organizational change and continuous improvement.
• Cross-cultural leadership capability in a global matrix environment.
• Practical, solution-focused approach to managing legal risk.
