Your Contribution 

 

As a Foreign Trade Intern reporting to the Head of Foreign Trade NA, you will be responsible to provide analytical and operational support to the Foreign Trade department. This role is designed for a highly organized individual with strong technical and analytical skills who is comfortable working with data, performing complex calculations, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal teams and external resources. The intern will gain hands-on experience in international trade operations, compliance processes, and data-driven decision support.

 

This role is responsible to:

  • Support day-to-day activities of the Foreign Trade department, including trade compliance, customs, and duty-related initiatives
  • Perform complex calculations and data analyses related to duties, tariffs, refunds, trade programs, and cost impact assessments
  • Assist with report generation, tracking metrics, and compiling data for management review using Microsoft tools
  • Maintain and update trade-related databases, spreadsheets, and documentation with a high level of accuracy
  • Follow up with external resources, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and internal stakeholders, to gather required data or resolve open issues
  • Monitor open items and ensure timely follow-up on requests, filings, and documentation
  • Support internal audits, reconciliations, and compliance reviews
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Foreign Trade function
  • Ensure proper filing, organization, and retention of trade documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

 

 Your Experience & Qualifications 

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (including formulas, data analysis, and reporting); familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and perform technical calculations accurately
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with large datasets and structured reporting
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable following up with internal and external parties in a professional manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
