Quality Engineer
Your Contribution
As our Quality Engineer, you will perform the activities that support our Quality Assurance System.
- Define and train on production line inspection needs, including end of line.
- Generate non-conforming material reports and participate with customer complaint and returns of goods during series production.
- Conduct MSA studies for serial quality gages.
- Complete customer product approval (PPAP/ISIR) for changes during series production.
- Attend daily meetings and take actions as needed, including quality performance and scrap reviews.
- Develop Quality Alerts for production.
- Support establishing rework procedures for any non-standard work.
- Prepare quality and inspection visual aids.
- Maintain control plans.
- Initiate and manage product containment actions and certification procedures for quality spills.
- Support warranty investigations.
- Analyze data, actively deal with problems and implement decisions.
- Ability to work independently at a professional level with minimal management direction.
- Participate in training specifically required by customer, including web portal use.
- Participate in customer drawing and technical specification review and examination.
- Participate with new product quality plan according to the production management level and quality management level of the company.
- Participate in the design of product test and detection plans, actively participate in verifying the detection and test capability.
- Perform capability studies and verification of product technological processes and participate in Run-at-Rate verification.
- Participate in the product and process reviews, change review and trial assembly during customer's new product development.
- Submit daily carryover communication following required guidelines to appropriate staff.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Strong organizational abilities, self-motivated, energetic and able to perform duties with little management oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed with ability to act as a team leader.
- Analytical ability and detailed skills proficiency with computer programs are required.
- Bachelor Degree in related field
- A minimum of 4 years' experience working in high volume automotive manufacturing plant, preferably in the quality organization.
- Working knowledge of basic GD&T, drawing characteristics, and statistical techniques
- Certified Quality Technician with ASQ a plus
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including [ATF 16949 and VDA • 6.3 • Proficient in AIAG core tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Power Point • Proficient in using 8D method to solve problems. • Trained in related OEM and Tier I-specific requirements.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, for example SAP, is preferred.
