Assistant Manager – Project Purchasing

 

Experience 8+ Years

 

Member of the PDP-Project Core Team; is the Sub-Project-Leader coordinating all external purchased component and material (3rd party supplied) defined in the BoM of a PDP-Project’s product (production material). As sub-Project Leader, he is empowered for Purchasing target (Q, T & C) achievement

Active lead and control for realization/contribution in new projects for purchased components based on project goals and on commodity strategies (project management, RFQ’s, technical & commercial reviews, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting, ordering, capacity installed...)

Assessment of suppliers and quotations for commercial & technical sustainability

Application of MAHLE standards/methods/processes and implication of MAHLE global commodity strategies

Supplier visits/meetings (including domestic and international travel as required)

Internal and external reporting including related activities

Collaboration in projects and documentation/presentation of results

Administration of Project documents related to the Domain deliverables in EasyDMS

Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Overall purchase experience of 10+years towards the Motor , Electrical & Electronic components

Strong communications skills, both oral and written. 

Strong negotiation, financial cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, problem solving, time and project management skills.

Ability to read technical blueprints and specifications required. Additional experience with electric diagrams and BOM for electronics is a plus.

Familiarity with Quality and Manufacturing tools such as S.P.C., Pokayoke, Pareto Analysis, Cause-Effect Analysis.

Specialized skills in the area of strategic planning, risk analysis/management, effective research methods, benchmarking, flow charting, brainstorming, QS-9000,ISO 14001, TS 16949 standards, interviewing, conflict resolution, and an understanding of contract law, terms and conditions, and economic factors are required.

Exposure or participation in VA/VE and lean activities

Knowledge of logistics, manufacturing processes, commodity markets and futures, and a strong understanding of component and product functionality are important assets.

Technical knowledge of components and materials for electric drives and powertrains

 

EDUCATION AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

B.E in Electrical and Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical/Automobile with >10 years of experience in Automotive purchasing and supply chain management
