Mechanical Engineer e-Motor

Your Roles & Responsibilies

• Design complete electric motors as part of electric traction drive systems

• Design system interfaces between e-motor, electronics, connectors and other sub-components

• Design required tooling/fixture for functional motor sample assembly

• Definition of material and manufacturing of designed systems including aspects in close collaboration with manufacturing site

• Ensure mechanical design fulfills customer requirements, standards and legislations

• Create component & assembly drawings and clarify open tech. questions with suppliers

• Create design related documents

• Monitor design status and coordinate design related activities, including issue resolution and reporting

• Continuously improve design process, and implement lessons learned and best practice

Your Skills & Strengths

• Education with at least bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

• At least 3-5 years of experience in design of HV e-motors (stator, rotor, housing) and preferably also in other mechatronic components in automotive industry

• Experience in tolerance analysis, robust design, design to cost & design to manufacturing

• Experience and good knowledge of state-of-the-art automotive manufacturing technologies of e-motors

• Experience in integration of electric powertrain components (electric motor, electronics, coolant circuit, connectors, and mechanical installation) is a plus

• Good knowledge in structural-mechanical FEM simulation of electric motors including their interfaces to gearbox, inverter, etc.

• Skills and experience in communication with automotive customers and suppliers

• Intercultural experience is desirable

• Fluent English written and spoken
